The curry leaf plant also known as Murraya koenigii is a small tree or shrub native to India. It belongs to the citrus family and produces small fragrant white flowers that bloom in clusters. The leaves of the curry leaf plant are dark green glossy and emit a strong aroma when crushed.
The leaves are an important ingredient in Indian cooking and are used to add flavor to various dishes including curries chutneys and soups. They have a distinct mildly spicy taste that is hard to replicate with other herbs.
